Chesapeake Health Care Announces Retirement of Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Daniel Eisemann

Eisemann to Retire in January; Dr. B. Lee Jennings Named as Successor

Dr. Daniel Eisemann to retire in January 2018.

(SALISBURY, MD – December 20, 2017) – Chesapeake Health Care (CHC), a leading Federally Qualified Health Center serving patients in the lower Eastern Shore, announced today that its Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Daniel Eisemann, will retire from service in January 2018. For nearly a decade, Eisemann has held this important and challenging position, and has been instrumental in bringing on-board many diverse and talented providers.

Dr. Eisemann received his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He then joined the U.S. Army where he practiced medicine at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Eisemann arrived in Salisbury in 1982, where he practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Floyd Gray and Dr. Eisemann established an OB/GYN medical practice in 1989 in Salisbury, Maryland. In 1991, Dr. B. Lee Jennings joined Drs. Gray & Eisemann, PA. By 2002, their OB/GYN practice had expanded to seven providers, and became known as Eastern Shore OB/GYN.

In 2007, Eastern Shore OB/GYN providers and staff joined Three Lower Counties Community Services, Inc., now Chesapeake Health Care. Since then, Chesapeake Health Care has become the premier OB/GYN provider on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. In 2008, Dr. Eisemann assumed the position of Chief Medical Officer at Chesapeake Health Care.

Dr. Jennings received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his internship and residency at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia.

He is currently the head of CHC’s OB/GYN department where he practices Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Jennings will succeed Dr. Eisemann as Chief Medical Officer on January 1, 2018.
