James Porter is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). James graduated in April 2022 from Samford University in Birmingham, AL where he earned his Doctorate in Nursing Practice in advanced mental health nursing and nursing education.
Prior to obtaining his doctoral degree, James earned his Licensed Practical Nursing certification in 2012 from Bevill State Community College in Sumiton, AL, followed by his Associates of Science in Nursing degree in 2015 from Wallace State Community College (formally George C. Wallace State Community College) in Hanceville, AL, and both his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016 and 2019, respectively.
